I took two years of photography in high school, shooting 35mm and 120 B&W film from Ilford exclusively. The school owned the medium-format camera, and I owned a Nikon FG. After graduation, I went to the Art Institute of Philadelphia where I furthered my studies of photography.

By this time, I had sold my FG and bought a professional camera, the Nikon F3 High Point with a Nikkor 50mm lens. At AI, we shot 35mm, medium-format, as well as 4×5 and 8×10 large-format in both B&W and color. The photos here are all I have left of nearly two years at AI. With the exception of the Mailboxes, all were shot in March of 1987.

I regret not finishing school at AI, and I regret selling my F3 even more. I loved that camera. Someday I’ll replace it with a digital SLR.

UPDATE: In February 2009, I bought a Nikon D90, finally replacing my long lost F3. You can read further about my photographic past in this blog entry. I’ve been out of photography for a long time, but now I have a new camera to enjoy the hobby with. I’ve started uploading new photographs to http://photography.wafwot.com, if you’re intersted in viewing some of my newer work.
