kompose screenshot I got tired of Kubuntu on my laptop, and decided to go back to using Debian. While Kubuntu is based on Debian, it’s still not the true Debian I know and love. And, just like usual, I decided to run unstable (etch), eventhough Sarge was finally released.

This screen shot is of Komposé, a KDE knockoff of Apple’s Exposé. It’s pretty cool. I just move the mouse to the upper right-hand corner of the screen (yes, it configurable for any corner), and I’m presented with a full-screen task manager with thumbnails of all windows. Click on that thumbnail, and the program is brough to the foreground. But with all it’s 1337ness, it’s a drain on the CPU. Komposé has support for the Composite and Damage extensions of XOrg, but I don’t have XOrg installed (yet), and Komposé is a bit “crashy” with those extensions. So, Komposé doesn’t run all the time… but it’s a cool little app that is fun to play with.
