Hello world. The two most used words by any new programmer or web designer.
No where else in our lives do we ever say “Hello World.” There’s no documented case of a newborn baby popping out of it’s mama’s snatch, and saying “Hello World.”
I’m currently 38, and I don’t think I ever said “Hello World” without it being directly related to something I was learning on a computer. This is yet another one of those computer learning examples — my first post with WordPress. It won’t appear that way, though. I’ll be importing posts from my old blog. Trust me, though, it’s my first non-email post… just a modification of the “built-in” first post when I installed WordPress.
I’ve spent a lot of time — probably too much time — working on a theme I like and that looks good in Firefox and Internet Exploder. I like the first theme I picked, but it looked like ass in IE. I hate being forced to use IE to view a site because some dumb fucker with FrontPage won’t learn (X)HTML. I refuse to write a page that requires one browser over another. As much as I want everyone to download and use Firefox and Thunderbird, my page should look quite the same on any browser you choose.
