This picture shows a temperature of 55°F at 6:10pm on January 21, 2005. We’ve been breaking records all around the Pacific Northwest for the past week, as a jetstream dips over Hawaii and makes almost a straight line to Puget Sound. It’s been bringing us these unseasonably warm temperatures… and flooding. The skiiers are pretty pissed about it, too.
To put in in perspective, as I write this entry it’s 57°F in Atlanta, Georgia, 53°F in El Paso, Texas, 53°F in Las Vegas, Nevada, and 59°F in San Diego, California. I have to laugh at the irony of this warm weather. This "heat wave" in January is probably better barbecuing weather than we get on July 4th and Labor Day!
